Agustina Kreutzer (Buenos Aires, 1989) is an Argentinian artist based in Barcelona. Her work exists at the intersection of physical gesture and architectural sensibility, exploring the relationship between color, materiality, and perception. Through painting, she constructs immersive environments where abstraction is not simply observed but experienced, inviting the viewer into a state of deep contemplation and engagement.
Kreutzer’s large-scale compositions function as perceptual thresholds—landscapes of shifting depth and movement where color vibrates, dissolves, and reconfigures itself with every gaze. Her work does not seek to depict but to evoke, creating a dialogue between the viewer and the artwork that is both introspective and instinctive. The painting becomes a space in motion, where layers of pigment interact in a dynamic balance between control and spontaneity.
Her process is deeply experimental, engaging with unconventional materials to enhance the interaction between the painting and the viewer. Transparency, density, and contrast generate compositions that breathe and shift, evoking fleeting, intangible atmospheres. In each piece, Kreutzer surrenders to a state of total immersion, where gestures emerge from an intuitive dialogue between emotion and material.
“I see painting as a portal into the unknown, a process where emotions take shape through color and light. My work seeks to create spaces where perception is elastic, where the image exists in a state of transformation, unfolding and retracting in response to the viewer.”
Her paintings share affinities with other media where perception builds through layering and fluctuation. The internal rhythm of her compositions guides the gaze in a structure that suggests evolution, like an image that breathes. They are not static objects but vibrating surfaces that invite physical and sensory interaction, a process of contemplation in which painting is felt rather than merely seen.
Ultimately, Kreutzer’s work is an invitation to inhabit the undefined—a sensorial terrain where perception is elastic and reality is in constant flux. Her paintings do not offer concrete answers; instead, they open spaces for the viewer to traverse, resonate, and lose themselves in the intangible language of form and chromatic energy.
